Opening its doors in Melbourne's fashion district:

On Thursday 1st August, fashion savvy Melbourne locals, VIP clients, beauty bloggers and industry guests attended the official opening of Taka and Linda Nishimura latest salon venture Maison Tsumiki; an event supported by Shu Uemura Art of Hair.
Situated on the ground floor of the boutique Cullen Hotel on Commercial road, Maison Tsumiki’s interior combines the modern simplicity of Japanese décor combined with elegant French accents- the beauty of both cultures. With Taka and Linda’s love of Japanese and western aesthetics, Maison Tsumiki is perfectly aligned with Shu Uemura Art of Hair’s brand philosophy, offering exceptional hair care and luxurious in salon services.

The salon is one of only 4 exclusive Shu Uemura Art of Hair stockists in Victoria, however the only Victorian salon to solely stock the Shu Uemura Art of Hair retail line, which demonstrates Maison Tsumiki’s commitment to the luxury hair care market and the Shu Uemura Art of Hair brand.


Guests were treated to French champagne on arrival, delicious oysters and freshly made sushi provided by an in house traditional sushi chef. Adding to the European atmosphere, guests were kept entertained by a mix of modern, french and Japanese music while the chic crowd soaked up the beautiful modern surrounding of the new salon. With custom made, French inspired pastel turquoise lacquered hair stations, clean black and white interior lines and a luxurious hair spa area, Maison Tsumiki truly captures the essence of modern style.

Taka and his teams hair work was also on display, presented by the 3 geisha models who floated through the crowd wearing traditional Japanese kimonos and make up. The three stunning geisha’s greeted guests on arrival, serving champagne and delicious canapés. Their hair perfectly showcased the brands’ and Maison Tsumiki’s love for art and hair.


Taka and Linda acknowledged their guests, expressing their excitement and thanking them for their support. General Manager of Shu Uemura Art of Hair, Ludovic Dellazerri and Brand Manager, Niki Kiskiras also spoke about the Shu Uemura Art of Hair brand and its recent launch into the Australian market.

Guests ended the evening by receiving a thank you gift, the iconic Shu Uemura Art of Hair Essence Absolute and exclusive Maison Tsumiki service offers.
